                                     Late Shri. Brahmadevdada Mane was born in a farmer's family, he contributed significantly to the development of Solapur district. He was the son of Krushnat Mane, who was working in Indian Railway, his mother Subhadrabai who was a housewife. By birth he got a patriotism from his father and he was greatly impressed by the views of Bhai Channu Sinh Chandele, because of him he was participated in various movements of freedom. Even he started his social work in the village Kumathe, as there were no facilities available for villagers such as education, hospitals, and sanitization. He always thought that there should be development in the villages, for that he was working consistently.

           To provide the best education facility to Kumathe and nearby area he laid foundation stone of Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Kumathe in the 1967. He started various units under one roof from KG to Junior College.

         The visionary man Late Shri Brahmdevdada Mane always thought about the bright future of youth residing in the rural area and knew very well that students of rural area do not have technical facilities and it was a serious problem during those days and declared to establish the institute to provide a technical education. In the year 1998 the first brick of SPM Polytechnic was laid.

            In the year 1998 he started SPM Polytechnic Kumathe, to provide the best technical education to the students of workers and farmers. He always believes that the people of rural area were not only depends on agriculture, they take the advantage of coming technology. He insisted the all-round development of students in the age of information and technology. So, he emphasized the need of technical education.
